Game Topics

Even though I have my game  topic, how about I talk about a few that I thought about before I was sold on my own game idea.

1.) Road and bridge build was something I really like because here in West Virginia it is essential to have good roads and bridges to last the winters here. Another reason I thought it would be good was I thought it would be cool to show how much work it takes to really build a road or a bridge, but finally when I started to cut ideas I just couldn't work out all of the details, so I abandoned this game idea.
2.) Building energy efficient cars was one of my crazier ideas, but I thought if I could pull it off it would be an awesome game to make and to play. When I began to think of how I could do it, I realized how hard it was going to be and that it would be impractical. That idea, even though it was my favorite, was scrapped very early.
3.) I think something that is very important to my town is mining safety, so I really wanted to do a game on mining safety. My neighbor in class had the same idea, but his idea for how to do it was way better. Even though I was not able to do the game myself his team is definitely going the right way with the project, so I knew it would be best for me to simply let him have that idea and find another.
4.) Plane design was something fun to think about because aerodynamics is just super cool; I really wanted to make a game were the player would design a plane and fly it in different conditions. I imagined that it would be a game of physics but also a civic matter because planes are a big part of American society, and their speed and safety are very important to anyone that flies for work or for  family.
5.) One idea that I like but knew no way to find solid information on the subject was deep sea harvesting. I had watched a show on the Discovery channel about it and thought to myself how awesome it was; the basic principle is to take algae and other things that grow in the deep sea and harvest them for energy purpose. The real kicker is they actually work! If I could have gotten the facts about how it is done, I would have definitely picked that game to be my game topic.

Alas! I have come to the end of my blog, so thanks for listening and subscribe! PS Have a Merry Christmas!

Paper Prototyping

It has been awhile since my last blog post, so I need to catch up you guys on what has been going on. So I have been work more on planning my game lately, and trying to get all the finer points of the game worked out; I have sort of been neglecting my blog and wiki, but I'm not a big fan of either one. Now that I have complained let's get to the real stuff! The prototyping was fun for most of my team, but for me it was just a nightmare because I possess no drawing ability. Anyways we have it all work out now, and I will be posting it on my wiki team page and on here shortly. Christmas break has come, so don't expect me to be putting it on here until January.
